Electric boat motor gets electric fireplace insert

A motor that powers a fireplace in an electric boat is getting a new upgrade in the form of a plug-in electric stove.

The motor will use a rechargeable lithium ion battery to power a heating element on the boat, and it’s being marketed by electric boat manufacturer Tidal, the San Diego Business Journal reports.

Tidal said in a blog post that the new version of the electric stove uses an array of batteries that are “designed to deliver maximum performance over a long duration of time.”

The batteries will be able to be charged up to 5,000 times before they need to be recharged, and Tidal says the company is looking for buyers for its new electric stove, which it says is a “world-class product.”
